The Various Grades of PBCC Inter-Personal Separation

PBCC inter-personal separation is graded in varying degrees from totally ignoring an excommunicated family member through to genial familiarity and fellowship with ex or non-members as it suits (generally for monetary gain).

I've never quite understood the brethren's rationale on this subject-maybe someone could enlighten?

137 comments:

  1. There have been several apparently independent reports of current Brethren members sharing friendship, refreshments and meals with non-Brethren, sometimes with relatives and sometimes with business contacts. But Brethren who do this still seem to be in a minority, and some of their brethren deny that it is happening. It has been reported with high-ranking Brethren who know they will get away with it, and low-ranking Brethren who have to keep it a deadly secret.

The motivation and the rationale are two quite different things. Sometimes the motivation seems to be to secure a business deal, and sometimes it seems like genuine friendship. The rationale offered in one case was that eating with people to get business is not fellowship, it is just business. In another case it was that Jim Taylor’s eating ministry was all wrong.

If the Brethren wanted scriptural support for eating with non-Brethren and non-Christians, entertaining strangers and accepting hospitality from strangers, etc. they could find plenty. It is thoroughly in line with both the spirit and the letter of the New Testament.

    3. The above contribution is from Ian, not Brother Rev. However there has been a conspicuous absence of any apologists for the Exclusive Brethren producing something rational or sensible which would seek to support their rather disjointed policy in relation to eating with persons who are not members of their closed fellowship.
Could someone tell us what their present policy is as reports of their willingness to sit down and have a cup of coffee (or more) with someone from outside their fellowship in order to conduct business seems to overturn the strict practice introduced by James Taylor junior.

      You say –
“Wrong of course - lt wasn't introduced by Big Jim and it will not be overturned either. God is never overturned.”

      Response –
You obviously don’t know the history of the group you are a member of. The “no eating with outsiders not in fellowship with us” rule, was introduced by James Taylor Junior from 1959-1960 and was often called the “eating matter”.

It is a matter of historic record, even your own ministry books (those containing all the additional non christian rules not found in the Bible) contain this teaching originating from 1959-60.

The teaching of not eating or drinking with those outside your particular sect, even if they be Godly Christians with no associated evil, is NOT found in the Bible which is Gods Word.

The “eating matter” is an affront to God, as it denigrates the work of God in ALL Christians outside your sect, even if they are walking “in Christ”.

      Anon 10 January 2017 at 17:54

To attribute this sectarian non christian doctrine to God, as you, have is heresy and blasphemous.

It is a doctrine of ‘man’ and in particular a man who was an alcoholic drunkard who introduced hundreds of edicts of false teaching, who was a womaniser, and who was found in bed with another mans wife.

Your religious system is morally corrupt and has nothing to do with Biblical Christianity or the God, or Christ Jesus of the Bible

Speaking the truth in love and exposing sectarianism and false teaching (which is teaching that is against, contrary or twists, Gods Word the Bible) is not ‘bitter’ as you call it, but it is simply obeying what the Bible instructs Christians to do.

I heard the grace of Gods call, through His Son Christ Jesus, but I had to leave the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church aka Exclusive Brethren to follow Him, as Biblical Christianity is not found inside.

The only things found inside the system of PBCC aka EB are –

Hypocrisy, love of money, false teaching, unchristian teaching, division, sectarianism, fear, scaremongering, placing the words of leaders above Gods Word the Bible, pride, deception, cover ups, lies, half truths, assumption, ignorance, condescension, disputes over words, false interpretation, immorality, suicide.

If you or any other Plymouth Brethren Christian Church (aka Exclusive Brethren) member thinks, that to be a Christian involves accepting to and agreeing to any of the above, then you are gravely mistaken. If you think that God accepts any of the above then you are sinning against God and perverting Biblical Christianity. If you think that a Christian should get down on his knees and accept and submit to the above practices by the PBCC EB then you are lawless and wilfully and abusing the Christian faith to give an apparent legitimate veneer and gloss to such abhorrent behaviour.

No wonder you all protest (take persons to court, use threats, tell more lies, use more deceit, use more false teaching) when the thin veneer is stripped away !

  2. Puppets on strings, rank and file PBCC members will be friends with you one minute and ignore you the next. One sister of mine will email me, the other one won't. They are too far gone to reason with. Sadly, the further they withdraw from mainstream civilization, the worse their general behaviour becomes. On the highways they are a big danger to themselves and other road users with their sheer arrogance. How many more PBCC members will die in RTA's before they learn?

  3. During 2012 when the Exclusive Brethren were making extensive representations to Members of Parliament in relation to the retention of charitable status for their trusts I had a brief discussion with a local MP. When I pointed out to him that the EB refused to eat with anyone outside their fellowship he corrected me and said when two persons from the EB visited his constituency office they readily accepted his hospitality of tea/coffee and biscuits. He confirmed that he had tea and biscuits along with them during their discussion.
At that time the EB were going out of their way to try and demonstrate that they were just "normal" Christians.
Whilst it is positive that they now share refreshments with non-brethren the motivation for such action is in my view deception and not a genuine show of friendship.
It would be encouraging however if they were to acknowledge openly that James Taylor's eating ministry was unscriptural and plainly wrong. However after 56 years that may be difficult for them to swallow (pun intended!).

  4. I believe they do this for people whom they admit were grievously treated by the Brethren, in some sort of effort to appease the hurt. They also do it for people who could hurt them in a court if a showdown was to occur. They can then say "Oh we afforded you access to your family!"

I know of a couple of cases where people who have been out for years - enjoy visits, phonecalls and emails from their parents or relatives still in. The double standard of course is wicked and highlights the 'fly by the seat of your pants' approach by this Man of God - perhaps more so than the others. To those of us who never got that opportunity to reconnect - it is plain bloody insulting.

  6. Those members of the Exclusive Brethren/PBCC who are now ready to share eating and drinking with non-Brethren people are being faithful to the teaching of the New Testament with its emphasis on hospitality and welcome of strangers.

For example, the earliest extant manuscript of the New Testament Epistle to the Hebrews dates from around 200 AD and can be seen in the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin. It is known as Papyrus 46 (P46). In it you can read what the early Christians valued and copied to be read and heard in their meetings: "Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers (philoxenia), through this some have entertained angels without noticing."

    1. Anonymous of 17 December 2016 at 00:59,

I am interested in some of the things you have just said. “The people of God” is an interesting phrase, but different godly people use it to mean different things. For instance, the Church of England publish booklets with titles such as “Protecting All God’s Children” and “Valuing All God’s Children” and it becomes clear in the booklets that they are using the term “God’s Children” to refer to all children and all adults, specifically including homosexuals. What people are you referring to when you mention in your post “The people of God”?

You also say, “Are you really in a position to make untrue accusations?” Could you be more specific? What accusations do you mean, and who has made them, and what are your reasons for thinking they are untrue?

You say, ‘You have no right to even open your mouth unless it's to say "l repent"’. I know that John Hales would agree with you here, because more than once he denied that people have the right to hold their own opinions or express these opinions, but it is an extreme view and a very dangerous one. It is only in the most evil, despotic and oppressive regimes that freedom of expression is outlawed. The very fact that you say such a thing provides support for those who say Exclusive Brethrenism is an evil, despotic and oppressive regime.

Will you also be tearing around the countryside going from meeting to meeting, in the usual mindless fashion, whilst celebrating Christmas with even more whisky and other alcohol than "the saints" usually consume on the "Lord's Day"? Whether in Australia, NZ, UK, USA, or where ever they proliferate, a public health warning should be issued to all other road users, and their pets, that the "saints are coming tnrough..." not in triumph, but pissed.

  11. "Enjoying the Lord's Supper as a bonus" Anonymous 17 December at 00.59
Many Christians would be astonished that enjoying the Lord's Supper could be described as "a bonus" to the main event of a tasty turkey dinner. However those of us who have knowledge of where the priorities of the Exclusive Brethren lie are not at all surprised by what takes precedence.
Materialism and making money now seems to be more important than remembering the Lord. However again this is not surprising since there are many within the Exclusive Brethren who have never confessed Jesus as their Lord and Saviour before they have "enjoyed the Lord's Supper". By the way how do you remember the Lord if you do not know Him?

  12. Question. Do 'people of God' drink heavily, drive while drunk, kill their wives and families in doing so, run away from the scene of accidents, plead some unheard condition as an excuse, plead not guilty when charged, abuse children, drug homosexuals, torture animals, disallow mixed race marriages, dangerously overcrowd meeting halls, lie, cheat and deceive?

I can't be among them then.

Imagine Jesus running away from the cross? Complaining because He's suffering 'white outs'? Conning the authorities? Going to Tesco's to beg for 5 loaves and 2 small fish? Changing his mind every 5 minutes? Allowing commercial activities in the Temple?

Brethren are now so far away from truth, that they wouldn't know it if it slapped them on their bloated, drink ravaged faces.

This site is not at all anti-Christian. Many of the commentators appear to be Christians. However, it is critical of the Exclusive Brethren (rebranded as the PBCC) who, as an organisation, are a perversion of Christianity. Indeed, many who have left over the years have discovered Christianity for the first time. In so far as God jots anything down, He must be wearing out his pencil noting the sins of the Exclusive Brethren, whether it be cruelty, coming between man and wife, child abuse, alcoholism, lying (including under oath) manslaughter, dangerous business practises, running away from the scenes of accidents, financial irregularities etc etc. All adding up over the years, demonstrating how a once reasonably sincere group deteriorated into a money driven puesdo Christian cult.

The events of Aberdeen 1970 and Preston 1970 and many others during the period 1959 to 1970, are important to discuss and expose because they prove that the Excusive Brethren now known as the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church is founded on lies, deceit, immorality and false teaching.

The persons who don’t want these issues discussed are the ones with a vested interest in suppressing the truth (ie – members of the EB aka PBCC)

      You say –
Part 1 - "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof is death" The world hates authority and self will is a sign of man away from God. Jesus did not his own will, but the will of the father.. Part 2 - “Likewise we have a lot of lawless folks who like to gang-up on other Christians as they are not satisfied with the end result of self will. Live and let live.”

      Response –
In part 1 what you say is Bible based, however that has nothing to do with exposing the sectarian separatist immoral false teaching Exclusive Brethren aka Plymouth Brethren Christian Church.

In part 2 you appear to support such sectarian separatist immoral false teaching as practiced by the Exclusive Brethren aka Plymouth Brethren Christian Church.

Are you obliquely, by using platitudes, obfuscations and false application of Gods Word the Bible, suggesting that all who expose the sectarian PBCC EB should instead submit to the will of the PBCC aka EB and its self declared ‘authority’ ??

If so, what utter delusional nonsense and a clear example of twisting Gods Word the Bible to suit your own sectarian deceitful agenda

Do you not know that the Bible which is Gods Word instructs Christians to expose sectarianism and false teaching.

Do you not know that the following, (which is practiced and believed by the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church aka Exclusive Brethren), is a perversion of Christianity, is contrary to the teaching of Christ and is lawless to God -

      - Separation from all other Christians and Churches enforced by threat of ‘being withdrawn from’ and declared ‘unfit for Christian fellowship’

      - Dividing families, friends, relatives, children, parents, husbands, wifes, brother, sister, uncle, aunts, cousins, etc if they visit or go to another Christian Church to have communion, fellowship or listen to a service

      - Declaring all those (including all other Christians) outside your group as worldy, unfit for fellowship, iniquitous, evil and to keep separate from all outside under the doctrine of “Separation from Evil”

      - Introducing hundreds of non biblical, extra biblical rules which must be obeyed under threat of being “withdrawn from”, rules which contradict Gods Word the Bible

      - Refusing to eat or drink, or have fellowship, communion at the Lords Table or worship with any Christians outside your sect, which must be obeyed under threat of being “withdrawn from”

      - Declaring that an alcoholic womanising former leader James Taylor Junior, who was wound in bed with another mans wife, is a “pure man” and his rules must be obeyed

      - Deceiving and obfuscating in front of the UK parliament in order to gain favour and sponge tax breaks off society, the same society that you refuse to eat or drink with and declare should be separated from under the doctrine of “Separation from Evil” !

Could you clarify your first question? What counts as self-will? You presumably wanted to ask these questions, and then you asked them, so you were doing what you wanted. Is that self-will? When you indulge in some little luxury such as a dram of whisky, you are presumably doing what you want to do. Is that self-will? Supposing someone else wants you to abstain, but you still do it anyway against their wishes. Does that make your action self-will?

Your second question is an easy one. Rev does accept 2 Tim 2 unreservedly, as I expect he will confirm in due course. That is probably why he left the Exclusive Brethren.

You claim you are not a ‘fan’ but then go on to use the same phrases/words in you comments as those used by all brainwashed members of the sectarian separatist cult known as the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church aka Exclusive Brethren. So, your either a deceiver, or your not entirely happy as a member of the PBCC aka EB, which is it ?

      You say –
“there are a lot of false stories out there about them being spread by low IQ Joes and embittered types from Aberdeen…”

      Response –
Yes there are a lot of false stories being spread around by the Exclusive Brethren aka PBCC about the antics of your former leader James Taylor Junior in Aberdeen and Preston UK in 1970.

      The basic facts are –

      - Your former leader James Taylor Junior was found in bed with another mans wife
      - This was witnessed and statements made
      - The lady in question (Mrs Ker) also made court statements
      - Your former leader James Taylor Junior was an alcoholic from 1959 to 1970
      - His relatives and other EB members have written about his alcoholism
      - James Taylor Junior even went to a drying out clinic in 1964
      - JT Jnr introduced hundreds of non biblical rules (false teaching) from 1959 to 70
      - JT Jnr was witnessed at Aberdeen, drunk, using coarse and foul language.
      - Aberdeen ‘meetings’ were recorded and transcribed into print, to be obeyed
      - JT Jnr was also witnessed in Preston UK in 1970 in ‘meetings’ drunk and having the sisters (women in the congregation) sit on his knee while he fondled them.
      - These events caused a major split in the Exclusive Brethren

However, you the Exclusive Brethren aka Plymouth Brethren Christian Church have concocted a whole range of stories to try to justify James Taylor Junior’s behaviour and the one common thing, is that your excuses are all different. You can’t even agree on which lie to tell next.

      You say –
“Shows that current salvation or grace has not been able to enter their lives. Jesus came to save the lost, so will you give up your destructive self will and follow Christ?”

      Response –
Those who have rejected James Taylor Junior and rejected the Exclusive Brethren have rejected a sectarian system invented by ‘men’ riddled with systematised error and false teaching which twists Gods Word the Bible and adds to it, in order to justify a corrupt system which allows leaders to be alcoholic womanisers and gives freedom to false teaching.

If you read your Bible you will find that Gods Word instructs that Christ Jesus came to ‘save mankind’ from this type of ‘system’

      You say –
“People who speak evil of the Peebs, tend to have not come to the end of themselves and thus not an inch of progress and no peace of mind…..”

      Response -
The Bible, Gods Word, instructs Christians to expose false teaching and rebuke those who speak it. It also teaches Christians to reject sectarianism.

If you think that those who expose the Exclusive Brethren aka Plymouth Brethren Christian Church - with its false teaching, twisting of Gods Word, deceit about Aberdeen and Preston UK in 1970, its sectarian separation from all other Christians, its lawless break up of families, its cover ups and obfuscations in front of the UK Parliament, its focus on making money and sponging off the rest of society in tax breaks, the damage it causes to the Christian faith, etc etc – is to “speak evil of the peebs”, then clearly you are one that supports such heresy and blasphemy !

Alleged is a polite term as the cases referred to are already before the courts. If they are before the courts they are very serious matters.

If Aberdeen is such an irrelevance, why are you so preoccupied in defending? As regards your alcoholic leader's "ministry", it has been printed in your own books! However, for any who doubt, there are recordings and sworn statements aplenty.

Regarding our beloved being found in the sack with his concubine, I believe an admission was made by the latter in a court of law. There are, of course, once more, plenty of sworn statements and witnesses.

Regarding lawlessness, very few "pious" groups have contempt for the law as do the EB (PBCC) - see above.

The EB(PBCC) represent the decline of Christianity, especially in the last fifty years, or so.

Very few other groups have been such a cause of family breakdown as the EB(PBCC)

Clearly, the EB(PBCC) have been in moral decline for over fifty years - their addiction to alcohol and wealth being just two examples.

The EB(PBCC) are master deceivers in achieving their ends, these include taking money from the public purse, accumulating wealth, land development, planning and business infrastructure.

Closing days? All the "infallible" cult leaders, including yours, appear to get this wrong.

    Hope this helps.

    1. You would appear to be attempting to be deliberately obtuse.
For the sake of the young or unintelligent the expression "in the sack" is an expression which means "in Bed" and in this case it means James Taylor junior was found by at least two witnesses to be in bed with a naked married woman who was not his wife.
Frankly he should have been given the sack (ie withdrawn from for immoral conduct) and removed from his position as leader of the sect but such was the lack of moral judgement by the majority of the Exclusive Brethren at that time and since that James Taylor Junior is regarded as a pure man.
The facts including a sworn statement from the woman he was found in bed with clearly indicate that he was not pure.
No man is infallible; we are all sinners including the so called leaders of the sect (cult) which now seeks to call itself the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church to try and distance itself from its disreputable past.

What a whitewash of the facts. Does the Bible not teach that Christians are to speak the truth and not be doubleminded or speak untruth or deception ?

Your former leader James Taylor Junior was found in bed naked with another mans wife !

That is a fact, it was witnessed and statements made. The lady in question Mrs Ker has also made legal court statements testifying to that fact. The witnesses who were in the house at the time have documented the events and these are easily available to read. There was even a book written “Goodbye Beloved Brethren” which documented these and many other facts about James Taylor Junior and his leadership of the Exclusive Brethren, (now renamed Plymouth Brethren Christian Church) and the false teaching he introduced. Despite the brethren’s desperation methods to suppress the book, it can still be found and I have an electronic PDF copy if you need it.

This event in 1970 in Aberdeen UK, caused a major division in the Exclusive Brethren with thousands leaving the immorality and unchristian behaviour of James Taylor Junior.

      You say –
“Secondly, the poor chap was far too ill to move a muscle, let alone get a stiffy. As much as some here may not like admitting it, we can be completely sure nothing happened and the poor fellow was called to be with Christ, his Lord and Saviour.”

James Taylor Junior (your former leader) was an alcoholic, that is fact, (his relatives have even written about it) he was even hospitalised for it. The man was not ill, he was a drunk and had been since 1959 !

James Taylor Junior had been ‘taking’ so called ‘3 day meetings’ in Aberdeen in 1970. these were a series of supposed bible readings and discussions and preaching’s and sermons (addresses). He was witnessed on the stage drunk, using coarse and foul language. These events were also witnessed and even recorded and transcribed into print, into brethren so called “ministry books” for you all to read and obey

Prior to Aberdeen in 1970 James Taylor Junior was also witnessed while in Preston UK again drunk while taking so called bible readings and even having the sisters (women in the congregation) sit on his knee while he fondled them.

These events then led to the situation in Aberdeen where he was found in bed naked with another mans wife. James Taylor Junior did not die until months after the Aberdeen events and after the major division.

      Anon 20 December at 19:58

Do these facts not shame you ?

Do you not know that the Bible teaches that a ‘leader’ should ‘not’ be drunk, should ‘not’ be immoral, should ‘not’ use foul language, should ‘not’ introduce false teaching contradictory of Gods Written Biblical Word

Yet your leader James Taylor Junior, ‘did’ all these things !

Yet you are still taught that JT Jnr was a ‘pure man’ and a ‘man of god’ !

      Read – Matthew 7 v21-23

A dying man could maybe imagine 70 chaste virgins awaiting his arrival at the Pearly gates, but that doesn't give you the right to make assumptions about his motives or speculate about what he did or didn't do. So whatever way you wish to spin it or rant, we can be confident that his thoughts and actions were 100% pure as the driven snow. Poor PBCC members now are unable to tell fact from fiction, they have been so misled. It is embarrassing having to admit to normal people that you were born into such a deceitfully run organisation.

So your excuse for his immoral and unchristian behaviour at Aberdeen 1970, is that he was in a “rapid physical decline” and “dying”, if that were so, why then was he allowed to take the lead at the Preston and Aberdeen meetings in 1970 ? why was he not relieved of his position due to ill health ?

How do you explain the alcoholism from 1959 to 1970 ? how do you explain the hundreds of edicts of false teaching introduced by JT Jnr from 1959 to 1970 ? Was he also ill, in “rapid physical decline” and “dying” from 1959 to 1970 ?

You claim he “could maybe imagine 70 chaste virgins awaiting his arrival at the Pearly gates…. “

Then you claim “we can be confident that his thoughts and actions were 100% pure as the driven snow” !

Those two claims are incompatible !

If he had actually been ill and EB PPBCC had admitted that and said his behaviour was wrong and due to his ill health, that might be understood, yet this isn’t what happened, instead the EB PBCC blustered and wriggled and obfuscated with various excuses, which kept changing !

      You say –
“He was an elect vessel serviceable to the master, our Lord Jesus Christ.”

      Response –
To attach the Lord Jesus Christ’s name to such sordid events as took place in Preston and Aberdeen in 1970 by James Taylor Junior, is utterly contemptible and an insult to the Christian faith as taught by Gods Word the Bible.

To attach the Lord Jesus Christ’s name to such a one as James Taylor Junior, an alcoholic drunk, from 1959 to 1970, who introduced hundreds of false teaching edicts into the Exclusive Brethren (now Plymouth Brethren Christian Church), edicts which directly contradicted Gods Word the Bible, is nothing short of Heresy and Blasphemy

I pray you read – Matthew 7 v21-23 and then turn away from the dark abyss that is the Excusive Brethren, now known as Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, and turn to real Christianity as can be found in the thousands of real Christian Churches outside the EB PBCC, before its too late and Matt 7 21-23 becomes a reality for you.

It is evident that Brother Rev has a somewhat greater and more accurate knowledge of God's Word the bible than you.
However I would accept that the Exclusive Brethren are experts at "cherry picking" verses of the bible to try and support their spurious ministry.
What does amuse me though is the way in which numerous edicts of previous so called EB leaders mistakenly based on verses from the bible taken out of context are quietly forgotten about much in the same manner as you might wish to forget the sordid events that took place in Aberdeen in July 1970.

Do you find the evidence of what happened in Aberdeen in 1970 somewhat disconcerting? I would if I were still in the Exclusive Brethren.

My wife can corroborate what Brother Rev has stated about the meeting in Preston which took place prior to the infamous events in Aberdeen in July 1970. She was present at the meeting and witnessed James Taylor junior asking sisters to come forward and either sit on his knee or kneel before him while he stroked their hair or to put it bluntly groped them. (He seems to have had a hair fetish).During the same meeting he had a glass of whisky close by which he drank at regular intervals.
My wife, a young married woman at the time was clearly upset by such behaviour. When the subsequent events in Aberdeen came to our knowledge our decision to leave the Taylor sect was easy in one sense but extremely painful in another as it brought about the severance of our relationship with my wife's family who all insisted despite the clear evidence to the contrary that JTjun was a pure man.
Your comments Anonymous 20 December at 19.58 are either deliberately puerile or else you badly need a reality check.

If your post is intended to belittle someone because of his sexual orientation, please consider the fact that a person's sexual orientation is largely constitutional, like his skin colour, height, shape of face, ability or disability. Many of us have come to realise that it is morally unacceptable to treat people with disrespect on account of any of these characteristics.

Please consider too that people are not all categorically male or female. They exist as a whole spectrum of sexuality, psychologically, genetically and anatomically, all equally deserving to be respected as part of the rich diversity of God's creation.

And such a provision for Bruces HEB revolution with Tony's skills in the art of spin (mind you , Bruce is the spinmeister but he won't front up ). Then , oh dear!! big Tony very badly wanted to do something and the leader that's never wrong said "NO". So Tony gave Bruce the flick and took off, lol. I'd love to see the conditions of the settlement offer :)) .Cheers!

  43. Fact.

Wells Haslem came into being the same year Rapid Relief Team made it's first ass-licking appearance. 2012.

Was it Wells Haslem or Delorean who designed those devilishly sophisticated, space age, sausage browners?

Sausage browning has always played an important role within the PBCC.

  44. The Rapid Relief Team was, no doubt, dreamt up by Wells Haslem. They first called it the Rapid Response Team, having stolen the idea from the Billy Graham organisation who, incidentally, do rather more outreach then browning close to use-by-date, free, supermarket sausages. Of course, to avoid litigation, it had to be changed to the "Relief" brand, even though it sounds like a cut price, lunchtime, massage parlour. The title is an entirely incongruous application considering the usual planned, safe, photo opportunity RRT events. Rapid relief from what? Sausage deprivation, "choir" deprivation?

Indeed so far fetched.Laughable really. Whatever next?

    1. Which daft stories are you referring to? e.g.The ridiculous story that James Taylor junior was simply a tired old man having a rest in bed conveniently overlooking that he had a naked woman who was not his wife beside him?
If you consider that to be laughable I would have to agree if it were not for the fact that there are 40,000 brainwashed members of a cult who insist he was a pure man.
The same 40,000 have been told in ministry that John Hales did not sin after the age of 12 despite his personally written letter to the contrary.
      Whatever next??

  46. Pray where do these stories come from? See no smoke no fire folks.
Not a shred of evidence has stuck in 47 odd years. This old chesnut gets recycled year in year out. Those silly events are long gone and buried.

  47. I agree, 04:40 it is a bit historical, let's concentrate on more current stuff such as manslaughter, drunken driving, alcoholism, dangerous driving, business scams and fraud, tax avoidance, business health and safety convictions, speeding convictions, lack of compliance with Charity Commission requirements, dubious planning proposals, misinformation, rural land speculation etc etc.

  49. Some people here have short memories, or were born too recently. I was alive and a peeb in 1970. I wasn't at the Aberdeen meetings personally but my friend was. Shortly after, we had an assembly meeting in our locality where each brother had to state whether he would be happy for his wife to 'minister' to Mr Taylor. In a case of a family of spinster sisters, their brother has to state he would be happy for his sisters to. Those of us who wouldn't, were thrown out on our collective ear, never to be spoken to or see our peeb relatives again. It is well documented and witnessed that Mr Taylor was found under a sheet with the naked wife of another brother. Whether this bothers you or not is up to you. But it happened. Daft stories? Silly events? Shred of evidence? Whatever. It happened. Just get over it. You choose how you want to live with it.

  51. Like BALE I was also around at the time of Aberdeen, albeit a juvenile, over the age of responsibility but not yet ministering. If JTJr was a pure man but allowed to be in bed with a naked woman (not his wife), does this mean it is not a sin? Does the current leader Bruce Hales, bed other mens' naked wives? I guess it would be OK as it's obviously not a sin. This aspect of being brethren again really appeals to me. Before I contact my local assembly to rejoin, please could someone confirm this would be quite acceptable, and not a sin. Thanks!
(PS perhaps also confirm which assembly has the most attractive set of wives so I could move there before I rejoin).

  52. 'so don't cherry pick from God's holy book'
Ah don't you just love it. While Jesus ate with taxgatherers and sinners, we forget that one, and adapt the text courtesy of Old Sideburns Darby,in 2 Timothy 2 and bend that around any which way, and provided you are a big enough Heavy, disregard the whole lot and eat and drink in restaurants with worldlies. But of course we don't cherry pick. Gays are just needing to get right and a touch of chemical castration does the trick, eh?
And referring to not a scrap of evidence - I was at Aberdeen and saw what went on with my own eyes. Why have the Aberdeen meetings never been published? It was the pinnacle of JTJr's wonderful ministry after all wasn't it?

You deluded stupid dumb brainwashed drunken idiots, do you think by patting each other on the back and saying that everything that is on this site is 'all lies' and besides all the brethies couldn't possibly be wrong, make you right?
However if you go to any rah rah set up whether its a Tony Robbins Event or just a big peeb meeting, you can see how far people who get worked up into a religious type fervour get carried away.
For goodness sake wake up and have a decent 2017 instead of listening to that little fat porker from Sydney taking your life, money, wife if he had half a chance, - you were born free not subject to the whims of a drunken old fool.

    4. Yes. Dodge facing up to what I wrote and try and divert attention away. Classic brethie. When you learn to take 100% responsibility for your life it will get better. As long as you don't, since you have been well taught by your leader, you will lay blame and spend your time and energy making justifying comments.

  54. As a young peeb trying to find my way, I get confused by what I read on this site.

From what I can gather there are a few different schools of thought concerning our dear Mr Bruce. He seems to be considered:

    1. Man of God
    2. Elect Vessel
    3. Little Fat Porker
    4. Drunken Old Fool.

    Which is he?

  55. It would also seem from the 'bottoms up' comments above that there is an insinuation that Mr Bruce has a gay son. This is fine by me (and probably most of the modern world) but wouldn't it be a gross embarrassment to the big cheese? I'd like the opinions of those who are older and closer to Mr Bruce. I can hardly rock up and say "Is it true you have a gay son? I'm a bit gay myself and if your young fella is, then it's OK for me too?"

  56. I think it is good that the brethren's consciences have been needled enough to reply even if half the time it is broken English and bad grammar, and they hide under anonymous. I know you will say but so do you using a pseudonym and that is for the reason that your litigious boss would sue me to shut me up if he could, but of course it is a bit hard suing someone when they are only telling the truth.
Back to my main point, good to see the start of an awakening with some of you perhaps. Ranting on about 'The Truth' from you shows that it is niggling you. Us ex's would NEVER ever come back even if you paid us money. (Well, not quite true if Brucie gave me a couple of million I would come back, take the proverbial p*** and once the funds had cleared I would be offski so fast you wouldn't see me for dust. The whole EB/PBCC is rotten to the core and you know it. Money and power and lust is what drives it along; the rest is just a facade and 40,000 brainwashed zombies are the pawns in the game.
You poor poor souls. Get the hell out of there when you can.

  57. This site never ceases to amaze me.  With all the pro-brethren nonsense thrown at us, if you ever ask a question about the cult leader, Bruce Hales, or his dependants there is never a response.  That's why I'm convinced the peeb soundalike contributors are actually paid trolls with instructions never to mention the cult leader for fear the page is followed by the Charities Commission.  Pretty much like when arrangements are made for well-disposed persons to attend a meeting, again this allows instructions to be issued not to mention the cult leader.

  58. Bruce Hales purports to be the leader of a mainstream christian church. However examining his so-called ministry would not lead any thinking person to the conclusion that he is qualified or equipped to be a bible teacher, pastor or evangelist.
Your language from the gutter would also suggest that he is not doing a very good job in shepherding and protecting his flock.
He seems to be doing a good job however in persuading EB business owners to part with their money to listen to so-called business gurus.
However this has nothing whatsoever to do with bible teaching or preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ which most people would consider to be the task of a Christian leader.

  60. Interesting comment; the Koresh Davidians were an extreme schism of the mainstream 19,000,000 strong Seventh Day Adventist Church. The "legendary" Mr Bruce and his faction are an extreme schism of the Brethren movement. Although for PR, planning and financial reasons the Bruce Hales faction try to dupe the public and authorities that they are in a timeline of fellowship from the original foundation c.1827.
